Most people selling their homes are achieving close to the asking price, according to new data.
Get Agent, the estate agent comparison site, analysed the asking and achieved asking prices for property across postcodes in England and Wales, revealing that homeowners are getting an average 95.94 percent on their asking price.
Their research revealed the postcodes where a seller can expect to get the asking price and often an even higher figure.
Sheffield’s S7 postcode was revealed to be the hottest spot across the country with homes for sale achieving 104.09 percent on average on asking prices of £295,862.
The city’s S11 postcode was also on the high achievers’ list, with sellers there collecting 102.19 percent on an average asking price of £330,596. Those selling in the S8 postcode have
The Kent postcodes of DA1 for Dartford sees sellers pocketing 102.67 percent on an average asking price of £300,448, while Bexley’s DA8 achieved asking prices are 101.39 percent of an average £296,004.
While regional asking prices are mostly being achieved, it’s a different story in London, according to Get Agent’s research, particularly in the most expensive postcodes such as Kensington and Chelsea. In its SW10 postcode, property sellers only claimed 89.93 percent on the average £1,886,212 asking price.
Colin Short, founder and CEO of Get Agent, said: “The current state of the UK property market really depends on whether you are a glass half full or half empty home seller.
“However, given the position we currently find ourselves in, with Brexit dragging on and the predicted downfall of the market, it’s perhaps not as gloomy as we’ve been led to believe.
“The vast majority of those looking to sell are still securing upwards of 95 percent of their price expectations, and this is far from a kick in the teeth in any market.”
