Buyers are being offered a raft of incentives that includes free travel to buy a shared ownership property on a London development.
The development by L&Q Housing Association is at a brownfield project at Barking called Parklands Riverside where 10,800 homes are being built on former industrial land.
New community by the Thames
Riverside is naturally by the River Thames where there are local mudflats and a nature reserve.
The current incentives on offer for shared ownership include a saving of £2,000, free London travel for 12 months and membership of an NHS wellbeing project.
As well as a brand-new community, Riverside will also have new infrastructure such as schools and facilities including leisure and healthcare. There will also be 65,000 square metres of commercial floor space for retail and food outlets.
Commute time halved
Meanwhile, City Hall is building a new Overground station and river bus pier that will be operational by 2021 and will halve the 45-minute commute into central London from the current 45 minutes to just 22.
At Parklands, the first phase of flats are priced from £242,500 or £60,625 for a 25 percent share.
All the properties on the development have open-plan living space and access to a communal or private outside space, including balconies and terraces for flats.
