Leasehold Wandsworth Conveyancing – Wandsworth Council Leaseholders and Building Insurance

In most cases where Wandsworth Council  are the Landlord of your property and you have a long leasehold interest Wandworth Council will be insuring your flat. If you need to make a claim under the Buildings Insurance policy you should not contact the Fridaysmove Conveyancing Team but rather you can request a claim form by telephoning (020) 8871 6413/6414 in office hours. You can also request this information by emailing Wandsworth Council at [email protected]. You will need to provide your full name, the address and postcode of the leasehold property concerned, your address (if different) and your service charge account reference number to help the Council identify you as the leaseholder.

Where you retain the services of the Fridaysmove Wandsworth Conveyancing Team for your conveyancing in Wandsworth, and Wandsworth Council are the freeholder, we will send you a copy of current the insurance schedule.   If you require an Insurance Schedule which may be requested from time to time by your mortgage lender, please contact the Wandsworth Council Property Accounts Section on (020) 8871 6590. You can also request this information by emailing Wandsworth  Council at [email protected]. Where you are selling in Wandworth and the Council are your landlord you will require a copy of the Insurance as part of the Wandsworth conveyancing process.

It is important to note that Wandsworth  Council’s Buildings Insurance policy does NOT cover the contents in your home. The Wandworth Conveyancing Team strongly recommend that you arrange a separate insurance policy to cover your own contents.
