What is the Home Information Pack Code ?

 
Fridaysmove always ensures that its Home Information Pack suppliers follows the Home Information Pack Code available on the PCCB web site. Our  interpretation of some of the Home Information Pack Code key commitments are set out below:
1 Home Information Pack Provider Commitments
• The HIP Provider subscribing to the Home Information Pack Code commits to display the HIP Code logo prominently in their Home Information Packs.
• To expeditiously produce Home Information Pack without delay the provision of a Home Information Pack or of any required Home Information Pack document for inclusion in a Home Information Pack.
• To address queries or complaints raised on a Home Information Pack promptly.
• Home Information Pack insurance must be maintained as also required by the PCCB to protect the public.
• All Home Information Pack services comply with relevant Home Information Pack laws, HIP regulations, and Home Information Pack trade standards set by the industry.
2. Complying with Home Information Pack law, HIP rules and HIP quality standards
• To comply with appropriate Home Information Pack laws and with guidance under that Home Information Pack legislation.
• To comply with the Home Information Pack registration rules and PCCB standards issued to registered Home Information Pack and search providers.
• To report into the PCCB any breach of the Home Information Pack Code, Search Code or Home Information Pack legislation of which we as a Home Information Pack Provider or as a Conveyancing practice brought to our attention and committed by an estate agent, a search provider or a Home Information Pack supplier.
3. Home Information Pack Services
• Home Information Pack Terms of Engagement and Home Information Pack marketing materials relating to Home Information Pack services (regardless of format) should be clear and not misleading.
• To be clear about Home Information Pack charges and payment terms for any Home Information Pack service.
• In the event that further charges are due, to advise the client of these as early as possible and provide an estimate of fees.
• If fees for a Home Information Pack is deferred the Home Information Pack provider offers financing arrangements for the HIP to tell the public of this before the Home Information Pack service is offered.
• To respond to any queries raised on Home Information Pack within 7 working days.
• Home Information Pack staff must be trained to provide Home Information Pack services in accordance with the Code.
4. Home Information Pack Complaints
• To implement a formal procedure for dealing with Home Information Pack complaints and such procedure to be detailed within the Home Information Pack.
5. Home Information Pack Insurance
• Home Information Pack insurance must be in place as required by the PCCB
6. Monitoring and Compliance of Home Information Packs
• To chose a Home Information Pack Code Compliance Officer. At Fridaysmove the Home Information Pack Code Compliance Officer is Chris Paulton of our Home Information Pack in London Team
• To audit compliance with the Home Information Pack code at least once a year.
• To issue an annual compliance statement, signed by the senior Home Information Pack executive responsible to the PCCB.
7. Information in the Home Information Pack
• If Home Condition Reports are to be included within the Home Information Pack they would need to be provided by licensed Home Inspectors.
• EPC’s must be prepared by registered Home Inspectors or accredited Domestic Energy Assessors.
• Home Information Pack searches must be supplied by local authorities, water and sewerage companies and authorities or by private search firms which are currently on the PCCB register.
