A variation is an alteration to any construction work or a change in the way in which it is carried out. This needs to be recorded in the contract so that this is kept up-to-date.

During a conveyancing procedure, the buyer or the seller of a property may request certain changes to any building work for a number of reasons.

It may be that the buyer would prefer the building work to be conducted after the purchase to avoid any delays during the conveyancing process.
