Is the Government about to scrap Home Information Packs ?

Rumours are rife that the government is about to take the wind of the Tory sails by suspending Home Information Packs.  The Conservatives in their recent conference received a rousing reception to the reaffirmation that they will abolish Home Information Packs. A move by the government would disarm the Conservatives for this particular political football. What price 10,000 Home Information Pack related jobs ?

As at today’s date the Association of Home Information Pack Providers have not made any statements in connection with the rumours. The CLG have stated that they know of no plan to abandon Home Information Packs.

If rumours persist about the abolition of Home Information Packs persist this could affect the property market as was the case when there was uncertainty as to whether there would be a stamp duty holiday a couple of years ago.
