The Association of Home Information Pack Providers ( AHIPP ) was founded in 2005 by a number of significant players in the Home Information Pack field in what was then an embryonic market.
The Association of Home Information Pack Providers (AHIPP), was set up with the intention of ensuring that there would be proper representation for those Home Information Pack companies who would be central to a newly formed industry within a changing landscape .
Membership of the Association of Home Information Pack Providers is available to those Home Information Pack providers collating Home Information Packs (HIPs), with Associate and Affiliate membership available to other interested companies.
An alternative trade association is the Independent Pack Providers Association ( IPPA ). This association was formed by a mixed group of property professionals with concerns regarding the future of the Home Information Pack and the independent Home Information Pack provider.
Their AHIPP web site admirably states :
"In a market seemingly dominated by national HIP 'corporations', with their remote call centres, and ‘conveyor belt’ service models, IPPA recognises the real benefits, knowledge and service that a locally based independent HIP provider can bring to the process. To that end IPPA have instigated a stiff barrier to membership, which involves auditing the Home Information Packs, procedures and trading practices of prospective members. We also have a strict Code of Conduct and carry out continuous monitoring of our members. These, along with the valuable business resources we offer members, mean the industry client or consumer can be assured of a quality, compliant HIP and outstanding service."
