When moving into a new home, the local infrastructure is one of the factors that clients are interested in. Mrs Carol O, who recently instructed Fridaysmove’s approved solicitor Jaclyn Smith on the purchase of a freehold residence in Julian Way, Kingsthorpe, NN2, will keenly follow the news of a controversial development in her immediate vicinity. This is due to affect not only Carol, but Conveyancing in Northampton in general.

Located only 1.2 miles from Carol’s new home, Buckton Fields, the site of the planned scheme, has seen many building proposals in recent years. In July this year, a plan to build 1,050 homes on the greenfield land has been rejected by the council by a majority of nine to two.

Traffic problems impair Conveyancing in Northampton

The councillors cited traffic concerns as the reason. With Northampton growing fast and the roads already clogging up with rush hour traffic, Conveyancing in Northampton might be seriously impacted if potential house buyers are scared off by the prospect of being stuck in traffic jams.

“Local residents are really concerned about the development at Buckton Fields. Traffic in Kingsthorpe is already terrible.” says Cllr Sally Beardsworth. Richard Atterbury of the planning committee agrees: “The roads simply wouldn’t be able to cope with the new demand.”

Kingsthorpe has already seen many recent road improvements to deal with the traffic on the main roads which many see as a nightmare. A development on Harborough Road is set to finish in the near future. But while the roadworks will bring long term improvement, while the construction work is going on, they temporarily exacerbate the situation.

“It is not just us that have suffered but it has hit us massively”, says Julian Batham of Waitrose in Kingsthorpe. “We do get feedback from customers that it has been hard to get to the store due to the traffic and people tend to steer clear of Kingsthorpe.” The lack of access to local amenities paired with the generally sluggish traffic makes Kingsthorpe less attractive as a location, impeding Conveyancing in Northampton.

At least Carol will be within walking distance of the local shops, meaning that she will hopefully not be affected by the roadworks. With these developments affecting her new neighbourhood, Carol was happy that at least the Conveyancing for her property was handled expertly and quickly by solicitor Jaclyn. Immediately after receiving the sales documents from the estate agents, she made the necessary enquiries of the sellers’ Conveyancing Solicitors, Tollers Solicitors of 2 Castilian Street, Northampton, NN1 1JX. Thanks to Jaclyn’s efforts, this Conveyancing in Northampton could be completed in June 2010.
