Survey Comparison Table

Important: The right survey could save you £1000s, but which one should you purchase?

Mortgage valuation (sometimes referred to as a 'survey')
Only addresses the Mortgage lender's basic questions, to confirm that the property is suitable security for your mortgage. It is not a detailed survey or report on the condition of the property.

HomeBuyer Report
Usually selected by buyers of property in reasonable condition and of standard construction. It is a lower cost alternative to the Building Survey yet still delivers a detailed report on the urgent defects and problems that may affect a property's value.

Building Survey (also known as the Full Structural Survey)
Selected by buyers of older or less conventional property or property that has been extensively modified. This comprehensive Survey includes an inspection into drainage, damp, construction materials and timber. It is an exhaustive study of all major and minor risks and defects within a property that may affect its value.
