Conveyancing and HIP Searches to come down in prices.

We predicted in our conveyancing blog just over a week ago that conveyancing searches ( In particular Local Authority Searches – as contained in HIPs ) may reduce in price.  MDA SearchFlow (www.searchflow.co.uk), the UK's largest conveyancing search information provider, Housing Associations  announced that it is to reduce the cost of its official searches for residential property used in conveyancing transactions and HIPs by 33% from October 2009.

The announcement follows news that the National Land Information Service (NLIS) will reduce its local authority combined LLC1 and CON29R service provider charge to NLIS channels* from 1st October 2009.

David Kempster, marketing director, MDA SearchFlow said "We are working in close partnership with the NLIS and local authorities to provide official searches that include the best customer support, the fastest turnaround times, the highest quality, and the greatest value for money,"

* NLIS service that allows HIP Providers, conveyancing solicitors and conveyancing lawyers to request and receive local land and property searches ( sometimes known as conveyancing searches  or Hip Searches ) electronically via an NLIS channel. NLIS is generally regarded as the fastest and most secure way to get full local authority search information.
